Measuring Guide

To get the most accurate measurements, have someone measure you with a cloth measuring tape. Before you get started, wear something form-fitting to get the most accurate measurements. Also, don't pull the measuring tape too tight around your body. You'll want to give yourself some wiggle room so that you can breathe :) To determine your size, follow these simple instructions:

A - Bust: Measure over the fullest part of the bust, usually above the nipple. Note: this is not your bra size!
B - Waist: Measure around the smallest part of your waist, about 1 to 2 inches above your belly button.
C - Hips: Measure the fullest part of your hips.

Size Body Measurements

  • We recommend that when selecting a size, you base your decision first by your bust AND waist size, and lastly hips.
  • If you are between sizes, we suggest that you choose the larger size and have the dress tailored. For example: If your bust is a Medium and your waist is a Large, please select the Large and get the bust altered.
  • Please keep in mind that the dress may not be an exact fit. Therefore, alternations may be necessary and may be easily hemmed by a local tailor. A general rule of thumb is that a dress can be tailored 2 sizes down if necessary.

      Read This Before You Buy

      I am not as familiar with Poly USA dresses, but I have only had success with other dress brands, so I did not expect much difference with Poly USA.

      On ABC Fashion's site, this dress as a size S is listed as Bust: 34.5, Waist: 26, Hips: 37 which is about what I wear.

      The waist on this dress's size S from seam to seam was 10 inches, 11 stretched as far as possible (which wasn't much), which made for a 22 inch waist with NO STRETCH.

      There is also no zipper or any other way to open the waist more in order to put on the dress.

      I was determined to keep it, and I would do my own alterations to make it work, so I gently yet FIRMLY yanked on the waist outwardly, and the seams loosened/snapped enough to where I could pull the skirt on finally.

      The dress stayed together, but I will need to go over the seam with another stitch to keep it in place with the newly made size.

      The dress now works and is really fun to wear and try out with different styles, as it is convertible.

      I do recommend to order it in a larger size or plan on an alteration in your usual size.

      It may very well have been a fluke. I do not know for sure. I only know my experience with the one that I purchased.

      Please note: I had not informed ABC Fashion about the matter prior to this review, as it was not an issue with ABC Fashion; it was a matter with the make of the dress itself. In fact, I am confident that ABC Fashion would have handled the matter with aplomb. However, I was going to keep the dress, and it works…
